uuummm, barbecue.
You would think Oakland would have some serious, fabulous barbecue and for the most part, you'd be right. Unfortunately for us, there is something seriously wacky about business hours here, particularly for restaurants. The chicken place downtown? Great, and excellent cobbler: not open Thursdays or Saturdays. Chili Haven? amazing: open 11 - 2, seven days a week.
Tonight we found a good one with reasonable hours and six different sauces and good sides, especially the collards.
All souls are pretty happy here. As fantastic as this house is, there is an ant problem (think horror movie). The cat food dishes have their own moats. Shred has taken to sitting in it while dining.
One last thing: You have to see these bike helmets!!!! Awesome!
